Here is a video from room 11 to celebrate the week! We were also very blessed to have Ringi (Joseph’s mum) in class to do some fun craft with us. She helped us to make Ei Katu and bead necklaces. Thank you Ringi! You are very creative.. and groovy!

This term Pt England School’s inquiry topic is Karawhiua: give it heaps! We are learning all about how to be healthy and strong.

Miss Scanlan is now in Room 11 with 28 superstar year 3’s. We are so grateful to have brand new iPads this year! We have been learning how to be responsible with our iPads, headphones and styluses. Everyone signed our Kawa of Care and agreed to take care of our devices.

Here are highlights from 2023 for year 3 and 4!

This term our inquiry topic is called Make It Work! Room 13 has been learning how to problem solve and invent! We have been doing lots of team challenges. Last week, we were given a bunch of materials and Miss Scanlan asked us to design our own catapults. During the design process, we learnt to:

-Ask
-Imagine
-Plan
-Create
-Test
-Improve!

We had a lot of fun working together in teams.

This term, science has been our inquiry topic! We have been learning about liquids, solids and gases and how they change.

We are going to show you what we’ve been learning about liquids and gases.. you might even find out how clouds are made!

Kia ora! Welcome to 13, 2023! We are year 3 and there are 28 of us.

This term we learnt about the Treaty of Waitangi and decided to make our own class treaty to make room 13 an awesome place to be!

Some of the values that room 13 chose to put on our treaty were respect and responsibility. After brainstorming the values, we painted our hands and signed the treaty with our hand prints to show that we agreed with the values.

We are looking forward to an awesome year in room 13!
